Hello, happy Sunday....

I got up at the crack of dawn this morning and went to Cheltenham racecourse car boot, it's quite a big one, in the summer its huge but obviously not many people want to stand out in the cold!
I found a lovely Alfred Meakin hathaway cottage cup saucer and plate in great condition for £2, and a coalport posy horse shoe for £2.
we then went for a drive to Stow on the wold in the cotswolds they have a fantasic little market town full of shops selling Emma Bridgewater etc etc...heaven right?! i went into a charity shop and found a lovely glass jug for a £1 that i thought would look lovely with some spring flower in....
little one has now gone to bed and tother one will be going shortly, im having a lovely cuppa and have my baking stuff out for later, which will be done after the dishwasher, ironing, washing and hoovering that i havent done today!!!

I'm in the mood for......Spring....

hey, today i am mostly thinking about Spring...my fav time of year, whats not to like, daffs and pretty flowers emerging, my birthday, and my childrens birthdays, having the windows open, washing drying on the line, cutting the grass for the first time, things growing in the greenhouse, and being able to get outside and do stuff in the garden!
So today i went into the local market town to the florist and bought a lovely pot of hyacinths in a metal bucket and also some grape hyacinths in a normal pot but found the wire pot in the shed, i remembered i had kept it from a rose that someone had bought me, they are so pretty and i cant wait for them to start flowering.
Also took a trip to homebase as i have an old chair that i want to paint in the same Farrow and Ball that i did my dresser but its dark wood so needed some undercoat, while i was there i picked up some more bulbs at 3 for a fiver i chose lily of the valley, lupins and liatris, so will be planting those out the first chance i get.
so what have you been up to today??

My Laura Ashley bargain

So as i was musing through laura Ashley yesterday drooling over the wallpapers, my attention was drawn to the childrens bedroom section, where my eyes gazed up to the top shelf and there sitting pretty was a beautiful quilt for a little girls bed....
i quickly dragged it down to see that it had a 50% off sticker but no other tags. Sooo off i ran to the till to see how much it was.
the assistant had to flick through the winter catalouge for a price and she said it was £60 and i would have to pay just £27 when she put it through the till! to say i nearly bit her arm off is an understatement!
so then i had to have a new spring catalouge too and when i got home i found that they are still selling the quilt and that they have put the price up to £70! so i really do feel like i have had a bargain now. And i cant wait until Eva moves into a bed now and has her lovely quilt at the end of it....
its really gorgeous with quilt stitch around gourgeous white butterflies on a soft pink background, sorry the photie is a bit rubbish...:0)

i have been looking into going to a few vintage fairs this year to indulge in my passion for all things old and beautiful...does anyone know of any good ones local to them as i dont mind travelling as long as its good!

we have had quite a lot of snow here in Warwickshire since november, i'll post a couple of piccies...

sorry, busy few days....

Hi
sorry sorry, busy few days here, christmas shopping, hanging decorations etc etc.
on Tuesday evening after Joe finished school we went to a fairly local farm and chose a Christmas tree, we chose a lovely Nordman fir (low needle drop) that has roots and is ready potted. we had heard that they were going to be very expensive this year but we go to the same place every year and it was only £3 more (£28) than last year, I had a shock when i went into homebase earlier and saw a tree the same size for £40!!
so it spent tuesday night outside as it was to late for Joe to help decorate it before bed....
Wednesday we had great fun and the usual stress untangling the white fairy lights and hanging the decs, then Joe broke some candy canes and started eating them (they are 8 years old!!) so back up to the farm shop on Thursday for more candy canes!

Saturday (today)
we took Joe and Eva to the local village hall to see Santa Eva was amazed at all the pretty lights, joe was not as impressed but he liked his present - a book from Santa. (My friend Amanda decorates the grotto and she did a spot on job!)
So kids are in bed and x factor is just starting ..Night xx
